  1. Halibut

This book met all my expectations it has been beautifully written in a way to make sickle cell easier to understand and gives tips on how to manage the condition. The illustrations are also beautiful. The author has done exceptionally well with the way she has cleverly put this amazing book together.

What a brilliant book for children living with sickle cell and even their parents and siblings. Its easy to read and I love the art illustrations associated with the stories. I think the author’s idea of writing books through her lived experience for children across the world couldnt be more inspiring. I look forward to reading and buying the sequel.

  3. Sadeh

Great to have a informative, factual book about sickle cell written in a fun way to engage children living with sickle cell, who can relate to the character Jen. Not only does this book help children with their literacy but helps them understand each others differences.

  4. Layla Lawson

This book is amazingly written, and so perfect for the children in our community but also for the children that surround us! I honestly believe this book needs to be in every school in the country. Education is key!

As a mother to a warrior I think it’s important to feel confident that the children that come into my daughters life are able to understand. This book does exactly that!
